LIVERPOOL City Netball Association executive committee received the Sports Award in this year's Australia Day honours on Saturday at Woodward Park.
Association secretary Estelle Lawler said the six-member executive committee was "absolutely thrilled" with the award.
Mrs Lawler said it was a "great honour" to be recognised for their hard work over many years.
"We are pleased for everyone involved and for the sport and for Liverpool."
LCNA began in 1968 and over the years has had two headquarters for their sport, Collimore Park and Woodward Park.
The association has 13 clubs and more than 1600 registered players.
Over the years. LCNA has also been a strong supporter and fund-raiser for local charities including the Cancer Council, Liverpool State Emergency Services and campaigns to support children battling cancer.
The LCNA has been one of the sport's strongest associations at club and representative levels for many years.
