A free after-school health program for children is now open for registration.
Go4Fun is a 10-week program aimed at improving the health of local children — aged seven to 13 — who are above a healthy weight.
The program is held at Liverpool West Public School, and runs across the school term with two sessions a week.
It teaches the benefits of healthy eating and healthy lifestyles through games and activities.
South Western Sydney Local Health District spokeswoman Mandy Williams said the program was delivered by trained health and fitness professionals.
"Mums and dads concerned about the weight of their children are encouraged to enrol them in a free, fun and engaging program that fosters healthier, fitter and happier lifestyles, she said.
"It also allows children to participate in activities designed to improve self-confidence, self-esteem and physical fitness; and gives families skills and information to make healthier food choices."
To register for the free program call 1800 780 900 or register online at: mendcentral.org/go4fun.
