during a raid on a suspected clandestine drug laboratory in Sydney’s south-west.
The Gangs Squad has been conducting investigations into the manufacture of prohibited drugs.
Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, January 22), detectives searched a home in Hinchinbrook with the assistance of the Drug Squad’s Chemical Operations Team.
Police found three children aged between 16 months and 16 years old with their mother, a 42-year-old woman, when they entered the home.
In a shed at the rear of the premises, police located glassware, liquids and other items used in the manufacture of methylamphetamine. More chemicals were found in a bedroom of the home.
A 48-year-old man was arrested but has since been released pending further inquiries.
Police have also reported the incident to the Department of Family and Community Services.
Investigations are ongoing and specialist police continue to process the site.
