Casula Powerhouse turns into wrestling ring

THE Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre will become a wrestling ring this Saturday.

The Unusual Suspects - Slam for Samoa show will stage bouts in aid of Samoan victims of Cyclone Evan.

The Professional Wrestling Alliance will present both male and female wrestlers, including New Zealand and Australian PWA interim champion Evie (Cheree Crowley) and Kingi (Caleb Just), the New Zealand heavyweight champion.

Organiser Doug Ryan said it would be the PWA's first charity event and that the district was an ideal location.

"We were based in Liverpool for a number of years," he said.

"We've been entrenched in the community for so long and have pretty strong ties here.

"A lot of our wrestlers are from Liverpool and suburbs nearby."

The show will start at 6pm and will include Polynesian stalls and musical performances and raffles, with tickets $15 and children under 12 free with each paying adult.
