THERE will be no hurdles Michael Dodovic and Isabelle Lhotka cannot overcome when they represent NSW at Trans Tasman Challenge this Sunday, January 13.
The Liverpool City Little Athletics Centre pair are competing in track and field at the annual event to be held at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
Michael, 11, and Isabelle, 11, compete at the weekly Liverpool City Little Athletics Centre meetings at Dwyer Oval, Warwick Farm, on Friday nights, during the spring and summer season.
Michael is entered in the 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres and long jumps for his age group. Isabelle will showcase her abilities in the 100 metres, 200 metres sprints and long jump.
The talented youngsters earned their "stripes" to make the Trans Tasman Challenge after meeting the qualification criteria at the official trials held late last year.
Michael also represented NSW last year at the Trans Tasman Challenge 2012 held in New Zealand. And this year, Michael, will attend year 7 at Westfield Sports High School. Both Michael and Isabelle have been state level runners in Little Athletics and also for Primary School Sports Association. Michael said he enjoys competing in his sport.
"I have been competing for seven years since the tiny tots when I was four," he said.
Isabelle said she likes racing in sprints and also the long jump.
"I enjoy Little Athletics," Isabelle said.
