LIVERPOOL is at the epicentre of strong residential growth according to the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure.
Sydney region metropolitan development program data indicates the City of Liverpool has more residential dwellings being developed than any other local government area in the south-west region.
Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun said the report showed council's commitment to facilitate growth and development in the region.
"The data showed council approved 1039 dwellings in the 2011/2012 financial year," he said.
"Liverpool is a growing and prosperous community and is a great place to establish a family with parks, schools, transport and jobs in close proximity.
"Liverpool is a regional city and this report tells us that we are on the right track in planning for the residential boom expected for our city.
"Council will continue to work with the relevant government and non-government departments to plan for our city and ensure provision of essential infrastructure, services and community facilities are delivered to meet the needs of our residents."
The data program tracks and manages an indicative 10-year dwelling supply forecast, ensuring the demands of the housing market can be adequately met, and the affordability of housing maintained.
