Wests Tigers will open in 2013 against Newcastle Knights

WESTS Tigers will play Penrith Panthers in their first blockbuster home game of the 2013 NRL Premiership.

The round two match will be played at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday, March 17, at 3pm.

Wests Tigers open their season against the Newcastle Knights at Hunter Stadium on Monday, March 11, 7pm, under new coach Mick Potter who replaced 10-season coach at the club, Tim Sheens.

The Tigers have four home games at Campbelltown Sports Stadium next year, they are Penrith on Sunday, March 17, at 3pm; versus Brisbane in round seven on Saturday, April 27, at 7.30pm; versus Canberra on Saturday, June 22, at 7.30pm and in round 20 against Manly on Monday, July 29, at 7pm.

The historic Sydney Cricket Ground will be the venue for Wests Tigers' Heritage Round clash in round six against St George Illawarra Dragons.

To be played on Sunday, April 14, at 3pm, the match marks the 50th anniversary of the 1963 grand final between Western Suburbs Magpies and St George Dragons.

The Dragons won the decider, 8-3.
