Casula man charged with alleged sexual assault
A 45-year-old man was arrested yesterday over an alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl in Liverpool. The girl told police she was meeting a family friend for dinner in Liverpool on Sunday at 7.30pm when the man allegedly sexually assaulted her in his car later that night. Police searched the man’s home in Casula on Tuesday morning where they charged him with sexual assault, indecent assault, detain for advantage and supply prohibited drug. He was bail refused and will face Campbelltown Local Court today.
Snatch, grab, flee
Police are appealing for information after a 65-year-old woman was robbed at Sadleir at 12.30pm on Friday. She was walking along Spica Street when a boy approached from behind and tried to grab her handbag. As he tried to snatch her bag, the woman's purse fell out. The boy grabbed it and ran from the scene. He is described to be about 15 years old. He wore a grey-hooded jumper and blue jeans.
A 35-year-old Miller man was charged at Warwick Farm station on December 5 for a break-and-enter on November 7. Police stopped the man for having an invalid train ticket. Further checks revealed he was wanted for the burglary of a Liverpool restaurant on Hoxton Park Road. A large amount of alcohol was stolen. The man was also charged with not possessing a train ticket. He will face Campbelltown Local Court on January 17.
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a 37-year-old taxi driver at Casula on Monday at 9.45pm. The driver collected a male passenger on Bigge Street, Liverpool, and was directed to drive to Myall Road, Casula. The passenger held a knife to the driver's throat and demanded money. The passenger fled with some cash and property. The driver was not injured. The offender was described as being of Middle Eastern or Mediterranean appearance.
