District netballers seek state spots

LEADING Liverpool City Netball Association representative talents are aiming for places in different NSW state age teams for 2013.

The association is sending top players Kristiana Manu'a, Gloria Masiasomua and Oliva Doyle to trial with the NSW under-19s team.

Ashley Valeni will trial for the NSW under-17s team for the 2013 season.

"The first phase of the trials are on in a few weeks," association secretary Estelle Lawler said.

The association's second, fourth, fifth and ninth division teams are performing well in the summer night inter-district competition at the Anne Clark Netball Centre, Lidcombe.

"Our teams in these competitions are well in finals contention," Estelle Lawler said.

Ms Lawler said the strength of Liverpool netball was improving all the time.

"We have plenty of talent here in our club competitions, state age representative teams and right throughout the juniors and senior' ranks," she said.

"Liverpool netball has always been strong and it gets better and better each year."
