FIVE St Johns Park Bowling Club players have been named in the elite Australian squad, keeping alive their dream of representing Australia in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India.
Casula's world number two-ranked player, Leif Selby, 37, and Mark Berghofer, 24, have been given the chance to play at Commonwealth Games level.
Selby won the World Cup singles crown in April.
Last year he also won a host of major tournaments including the Australian Open and World Champion of Champions.
Leading St Johns' women's players Sharyn Renshaw, 48; Anne Johns, 29; and Samantha Shannahan, 20 are also in the squad with fellow club players, Beth Quinlan and Lisa Prideaux.
The senior squad of 19 players will now begin their preparations for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, including a training camp from December 7-10.
``It is the highest honour to be selected to play for your country and we are all thrilled,'' St Johns' women's star Anne Johns said.
``None of us have played at a Commonwealth Games before and now all our focus will be on working hard to ensure we get to Delhi.''
