Austral's Trojans take offence

SUPERBOWL LVIV bursts into action on Monday morning, our time. But for Austral-based West Sydney Trojans under 18s American football team gearing up their defence and offence packs is a key priority. The Trojans are the junior division of the West Sydney Pirates club.

Craik Park, Austral, is home ground and training is held Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm.

Kick-off for the 2010 Gridiron NSW season is Saturday, February 20, against Wollongong Mustangs at Wollongong.

The Trojans played three trial games against Goulburn last Saturday at Goulburn winning all matches.,

``The boys played well and the form was pleasing,'' Trojans' coach Mike Sea said.

``We've got two weeks to get ready for the opening game against the Mustangs and they are have a strong team.

``But we are looking for a few more players to bolster our squad.''

Sea said the Trojans boast an experienced coaching staff which includes Australian and NSW players and members of the West Sydney Pirates.

Included on the staff is Australian quarterback Dave Ward, Antonio Piscionari and Australian player Tuck King. Sea has also coached at national and NSW level.
