What's under the bonnet? Ask a woman

15 Jul, 2009 10:43 AM
SOME women will give men a run for their money when it comes to car maintenance after an automotive workshop this Saturday.

The Galmatic workshop, at Bob Jane T-Mart on the Hume Highway, Liverpool, 4pm-6pm, will teach women what to look for when buying a car as well as vital vehicle know-how.

Managing director Eleni Mitakos said: ``There is a growing number of women who want to know more about their car.

``We have women coming along who want to know more about what's in their engine, what to ask when purchasing their new car, or helpful tips about selling an old car.''

Trainer Helen Plumridge said that all women buying or driving a car should do the workshop and learn handy hints.

``We pop the bonnet and tell them how the engine works, get them to identify the radiator and oil ... how to check tyre pressure, how to pump them up and how to change tyres and keep them at their best,'' she said.
