TEACHERS from Liverpool and Miller TAFE colleges walked off the job last week in protest over an Industrial Relations Commission judgement on more work for pay rises.
About 50 lined up outside MP Paul Lynch's office in Liverpool and, one by one, handed over the judgement paper with `REJECTED' scrawled across it.
They carried placards reading ``Where on earth is Verity Firth'' and ``TAFE teachers worth every cent''.
Teacher Adam West said he was concerned the quality of teaching would be affected by the increased working hours.
``To attract quality people you need to give incentives and offer good conditions,'' he said.
``We can't attract the quality people we need. It's just going to get worse.''
Teacher Greg Robinson said he would prefer conditions remained unchanged to a pay rise.
``The commission feigned negotiations on this,'' he said.
``We didn't contribute at all.''
No one from Mr Lynch's office was available for comment.
