09 Mar, 2010 01:22 PM
Green Valley Police said parents and childcare workers should be aware of a man who was acting suspiciously in Cecil Hills last week.

Acting Inspector Jason Flood said a man, described as being of Indian appearance approached staff at a chidcare centre in the area about 1pm Friday March 5 asking to speak to one of the children at the centre.

``He asked for the child by name and said that he was their grandfather,'' Acting inspector Flood said.

``Staff have described him as being about 50 years of age, with balding dark hair and glasses.

``The childcare worker informed him that they would need the parents confirmation and permission before he could speak to the child.

``He than ran away.

``It's obviously a bit concerning for parents and we want to warn them to weary of this sort of thing.

``We also need anyone that knows anything about this incident to get in touch with us as soon as possible.''

Call Green Valley, 9607 1799 or Crime Stoppers, 1800 333 000.
