A Lurnea teenager has been charged by the State Crime Command's Firearms and Organised Crime Squad after a his house was raided.
Strike Force Dareen is an ongoing investigation into illegal firearms and its officers executed a search warrant at a home in Thelma Street early Thursday afternoon.
Police said a bolt-action rifle, 500 rounds of ammunition, knuckle dusters, cannabis, prescription drugs, about $7000 cash and drug paraphernalia were located inside the house.
A number of spent ammunition shell casings were also seized from a vehicle.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on site and taken to Liverpool police station. He was charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, possessing a firearm, not keeping a firearm safe, possessing an ammunition, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, possessing a prescribed restricted substance, three counts of possessing a prohibited weapon and dealing with the proceeds of crime.
He was refused bail to face Liverpool Local Court today, Friday.
Inquiries into the seized items are continuing with the firearm to undergo ballistic testing to determine if there are any links to recent public place shootings.
