PETER Olsen aims to set up flashing lights in 40kmh zone areas throughout NSW one school at a time.
He is installing 21 sets of flashing lights within the Liverpool, Fairfield and Blacktown areas thanks to funding from Brydens Compensation Lawyers in Liverpool.
Mr Olsen said his lights were more reliable and cheaper to install than the RTA's lights.
``I had done the Lugarno Christmas lights for seven years where we raised $380,000 for the Make a Wish Foundation,'' he said.
``I was having a discussion with someone about the fact the RTA flashing lights cost $12,000 a sign.
``But based on my experience where I had 85,000 lights flashing at one time I thought there is a way to do it a lot cheaper.''
Mr Olsen hopes to provide schools with reliable, effective lights that can be installed cheaply.
``The RTA are spending up to $75,000 a sign, I spend $1000 a sign,'' he said. ``I would do any school subject to the getting sponsorship and as fast as I can obtain sponsorship I will put them up.
``I have had numerous other schools in the area who have asked for lights that we won't be able to fund through the Brydens Compensation Lawyers funds but any other businesses who would be prepared to sponsor one or two signs can contact me.''
