LIVERPOOL police have raided a Prestons house in which they say the drug speed was being manufactured. Officers said they found 48grams of methamphetamine in the house and they arrested a 24-year-old woman this week.
They said the drug was worth about $3000 but could fetch a much higher street value if sold in small portions.
Special-operations officers dressed in chemical suits searched the property and found several items they described as ``drug-making paraphernalia''. The woman was charged with manufacturing and supplying a prohibited drug. Investigations are continuing.

Two former Liverpool detectives have been found culpable of police misconduct. The Police Integrity Commission released the findings of their hearing into the matter this week. Nasser Mohamad Battal and a detective now known by the code name LP1 after he asked for police protection faced a four-day hearing in February into their behaviour while they were working for Liverpool police. The commission said any prosecution against LP1 was not likely to succeed due to a lack of evidence so it did not recommend that criminal offences be laid against him.
But it suggested that Battal should be prosecuted for firearms offences.
The men were investigated over matters relating to illegally imported tobacco.

A woman found dead in Northumberland Street car park last week is believed to have died of self-inflicted knife injuries. She was found about 8.40am on Tuesday, October20. Liverpool Police investigations manager Deanne Stanley said police were now certain that the death was a suicide. ``We're not sure how she did it or why she came to Liverpool,'' Detective Senior Sergeant Stanley said.
``We know she was suffering from depression. She would have died only minutes before the police were called.''
She said the woman, who was not a local, was alone on the top floor of the car park. Initial claims by surrounding shop owners that she had been arguing with someone had proven inaccurate.

Thieves broke into two homes in West Hoxton while residents slept. Green Valley acting crime manager Detective Sergeant David Hatchwell said two men, described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, were disturbed in the garage of the second house by its female occupant about 4am on October26. ``The two homes were only two streets apart so we think these two break-and-enters are definitely connected,'' Mr Hatchwell said. ``These people had forced their way inside and taken some small items, including wallets.''
