VANTAGE Community Services wanted to do something eye-catching, something that would draw attention to the great programs on offer at their Miller site and a huge five-metre long mural looks like it will do the trick.
Vantage manager Geoff Kelly is delighted with the painting, which was completed by Macquarie Fields artists Daniel Marincic and Jessica Phillips last week.
``We wanted to raise awareness in the community about Vantage and I think the mural looks incredible,'' he said.
``The shop we operate from was quite run down when we got it. We renovated it but it got sprayed with tags almost straight away, so we thought we do our own graffiti and paint a mural in a more positive way. It makes us more presentable to the public.''
Mr Kelly invited all youth to come down and take part in Vantage's Exchange program on Wednesday nights.
``We have a free barbecue for anyone aged 7 to 25,'' he said. ``Come along and use our internet cafe for free, do your homework, receive counselling or get some good tips on life,'' he said.
``Quite a few kids are already attending. They help us out a bit and we give them free advice and help with everything from financial to home-life problems, and food and clothing if they need it.''
