Christmas to come early for homeless

01 Jul, 2009 02:32 PM
CHRISTMAS will come a little early to those less fortunate in Liverpool.

The Crossroads Christian Centre in Prestons is holding a Christmas in July this Saturday for homeless and hard-up residents.

There will be a three-course lunch and guests will also receive food hampers, blankets, scarfs and other gifts. Children will get a toy.

``We're going to focus on the real meaning of Christmas and that is caring about one another and helping each other out,'' said organiser Tony Benjamin.

``The guests have to RSVP so that we can follow up with them later and see if they're doing well.''

``We serve about 100 meals a day in the Liverpool CBD area,'' he said.
