WHEN you talk about an up-and-coming artist, they are rarely younger than age20 but Lara Rachel is taking the art world by storm and she's 12.
The Liverpool resident who said she has had a paintbrush in her hand since she was 2, has put together six exhibitions and has won many awards.
She is opening an exhibition at gallery41 in Woolloomooloo today.
The All Saints Catholic Girls College student has always enjoyed painting.
``I like abstract art because you can do anything you want, whereas with realistic art you need to look at it and draw it the way it is,'' she said.
Lara's exhibition, The World Through My Eyes, will run to October 23.
Lara's grandmother, Chandra Mallawaraphchi, said her granddaughter is unique.
``She sells her artwork and last year she exhibited 25 pieces and almost all were gone,'' she said.
